Holiday Deadline is December 9th

Wow….the mad rush of holiday pictures is nearly over and it is almost time for me to sit back in front of the tree and relax with my family.  Ridge is desperate for Mommy to dance with him during Charlie Brown Christmas and watch the lights twinkle on the tree.  Colton just wants to cuddle and gaze at the stockings. With that being said all orders must be in by December 9th with payment arriving by the 12th if you would like them before January.

Shelly

I try not to get too personal on my blog.  Not really sure why.  But there is something I want to share with you tonight, and if you feel it in your heart, for you to help too.

Yesterday the world lost a beautiful light.  Shelly, wife to Tom and mother to 8-month old Ella, passed away from complications with Crohn’s Disease.  She was part of an online Mom’s group I belong to.  She was able to leave the hospital for a few short days and take her daughter to the Pumkin Patch (seen in the picture which I totally hijacked from her blog).  What a gift.  But it is so heartbreaking to think of her daughter growing up without her Mom.  A Mom who loved her so.

We are collecting money for the family to help in any way they need it.  You can donate here if you desire.

Please keep Shelly’s family in your thoughts and prayers.  And hug your loved ones.  Be thankful for them this holiday season and beyond.

Initial 10×20 Storyboards

Ooohhhh….an exciting new product. This is a series of three 10×20 storyboards mounted and printed with a linen texture. Works perfect for any child’s room. I can make them with a variety of background textures and colors. You can frame them or show them as is. Ask me for more details!

Storyboards

Sooo…. I added storyboards to my catalog. They are basically a collage of pictures printed on one sheet of photo paper. They are really stunning and make a big statement to any room.  We have several of our boys and I love them. I can do these in a wide variety of styles and amount of pictures.  I pulled together some samples for your viewing pleasure. These can be printed unmounted or mounted on a variety of substrates. Ask me for more info!

Gavin and Audrey

I met Gavin and Audrey’s parents out in Smyrna on what was the chilliest day of the year to date.  We took some family pictures outside and then ran for warmer grounds at their house to finish our session.  Both Gavin and Audrey have the most perfect complexion for black and white pictures …creamy skin with long, dark black eye lashes.  My fav for black and white pictures as they just seem to pop….you be the judge.

It always makes me giggle that babies are so much chunkier than their older siblings.

The good, the bad and the ugly

If you’re in Atlanta you know the city needed boats to get around last month.  The rain was crazy.  And it destroyed so many homes, schools and businesses and created a nightmare for many families.   You saw the pictures.  You know how horrible it was.  But people still need help.  So I encourage you to give.   It is the “expensive” season with the holidays but maybe your gift to others can be made in honor or memory of a loved one.  It does so much good.  We purchased a brick from Hosea Feed The Hungry as a gift to one another.  www.hoseafeedthehungry.com  But there are many opportunities to give and help.

And I can’t post without a picture…. here is Ridge at the pumpkin patch.  He loves pumpkins so much he couldn’t sit still for 1 second.

Cawley

Cawley’s Mom contacted me right before I went on maternity leave.  I gave her a list of other photographers to chose from since I would be out for a while and she wanted to wait for me.  Wow …that made my day.  And I’m so glad she waited.  We had such an amazing afternoon in the park.  Cawley is a little cutie.  He was all smiles and giggles.  And I LOVE how this first family pictured turned out.  Might be one of my all time favorite family pictures.

Cawley is getting ready for Halloween.  I’m a sucker for cool hats. I’m going to have to get one for Ridge and Colton.

Back to work

My maternity leave is over this week.  Back to a full schedule of shooting this weekend, finishing paperwork this week and contacting Clients.  It’s been a fun break with my boys but I miss getting out of the house and having some creative time.  Colton has already figured out his “alert” time is when Ridge is napping, at school or in bed for the night so he can have Mommy all to himself.  Will need to work on this so I can get editing done.  And thank goodness I finished my website before he arrived.  I haven’t been able to get through half of my to-do list while on leave.  So alas, my blog designs and pictures have been neglected and I’m still working on my new packages.

But I’m soooo excited to be back.  Just don’t make fun of my “jelly belly.”  I’m working on it.  Just taking longer this go around.

After the flood

Wow …it has been crazy in Atlanta the last week with all the rain. Just yesterday we received over 10 inches…. one day, almost a foot of rain. My front yard looked like a river with the water rushing down so fast. We are so thankful to only have minimal flooding in the basement.

Today we seem to have a reprieve from the rain …even if it is just for a few hours. There is more rain in the forecast for the next week. ACK! But look what the rain brought to my neighbor’s yard. There are hundreds of them growing in this half circle. It is amazing, gross and beautiful all at the same time.

Labor Day

We packed up the kids and headed to SC to visit my family over Labor Day at their lake house. It was so nice to have a change of pace …not to mention the grandparents to help with the kids. Plus Colton had not met his Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and the whole slew of cousins. It was a really special weekend.

Ridge is eating key lime pie …he said it was “yummy sour.”

Ridge also rode on Granddaddy’s new boat. He was such a serious boater …but we were able to crack one smile.

Colton spends some snoozy time with Mimi.

Ridge and Daddy sneak a nap.

And of course ….Ridge loves to throw rocks. Everywhere we go we practice the great art of rock throwing. Boys ….

Colton meets his Great Papa. Papa had a stroke almost two years ago but is able to use his one functioning arm to hold his great grandson. A very special moment.
