Emerson is one!

What a great way to get back into shooting.  I had the pleasure of meeting the most adorable 1-year old little lady, Emerson.  We had so much fun traveling from location to location trying to find dry areas to shoot.  She was a champ.  And what a fabulous walker.  She kept all of us on our toes.  I think a track and field varsity jacket is in her future.

Back to work

My maternity leave is over this week.  Back to a full schedule of shooting this weekend, finishing paperwork this week and contacting Clients.  It’s been a fun break with my boys but I miss getting out of the house and having some creative time.  Colton has already figured out his “alert” time is when Ridge is napping, at school or in bed for the night so he can have Mommy all to himself.  Will need to work on this so I can get editing done.  And thank goodness I finished my website before he arrived.  I haven’t been able to get through half of my to-do list while on leave.  So alas, my blog designs and pictures have been neglected and I’m still working on my new packages.

But I’m soooo excited to be back.  Just don’t make fun of my “jelly belly.”  I’m working on it.  Just taking longer this go around.

After the flood

Wow …it has been crazy in Atlanta the last week with all the rain. Just yesterday we received over 10 inches…. one day, almost a foot of rain. My front yard looked like a river with the water rushing down so fast. We are so thankful to only have minimal flooding in the basement.

Today we seem to have a reprieve from the rain …even if it is just for a few hours. There is more rain in the forecast for the next week. ACK! But look what the rain brought to my neighbor’s yard. There are hundreds of them growing in this half circle. It is amazing, gross and beautiful all at the same time.

Labor Day

We packed up the kids and headed to SC to visit my family over Labor Day at their lake house. It was so nice to have a change of pace …not to mention the grandparents to help with the kids. Plus Colton had not met his Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and the whole slew of cousins. It was a really special weekend.

Ridge is eating key lime pie …he said it was “yummy sour.”

Ridge also rode on Granddaddy’s new boat. He was such a serious boater …but we were able to crack one smile.

Colton spends some snoozy time with Mimi.

Ridge and Daddy sneak a nap.

And of course ….Ridge loves to throw rocks. Everywhere we go we practice the great art of rock throwing. Boys ….

Colton meets his Great Papa. Papa had a stroke almost two years ago but is able to use his one functioning arm to hold his great grandson. A very special moment.
