Mother’s Day Camping – Personal {Greenville, SC Photographer}

So why you might of had a relaxing, pampered filled Mother’s Day….that was not the case in the Bryson house. We went camping. I realize that since I have two boys, I have to embrace these things…camping, fishing and all the fun stuff boys do or get left out. And since we love to be together as a family …I was in. Especially since I knew there was a Starbucks about 7 miles down the country road (and I went, twice…not ready for hard core camping yet). But we had a blast. Learned a lot. Went on long hikes. Camped where Daddy did growing up. Wore matching Saquach shirts from my husband. And just laughed. And ate, really, really badly.

Here’s a glimpse of our weekend. I took a lot of pictures …just memories. Nothing special. But I do love the tent with the lantern.

Rain, rain go away! Aiden and his sweet family had to reschedule, not once, not twice but three times. But …we could not have asked for a more beautiful day so it was worth the wait. It is sure taking a while for Spring to arrive in the South with lots of cold, windy, rainy days, but we timed this day just right.

Aiden has the most amazing big blue eyes. And he gives you just a hint of a pout with his bottom lip …it is just too cute. But he’s all smiles when he gets to play with his soccer ball. And of course the ducks/geese. At first they kept photobombing us and then we timed it just right for a quintessential image.

Introducing Scarlett {Greenville, SC Newborn Photographer}

Scarlett was such a sweet little girl for our session… actually, she wasn’t that little. About 8 1/2 lbs at birth meant she had all the squishy baby rolls that just make you want to cuddle and coo. And what an awesome sleeper she was. Seriously she is going to give lessons on sleeping, well, like a baby.

And I’m so thrilled Mom and Dad trusted me on this first family shot. It looks like we are in a beautiful field but really it is a narrow lot on their street …the light was so pretty when I arrived we ran outside to get a few pictures and I’m so happy we did.

Introducing Lila {Greenville, SC Newborn Photographer}

Lila was such a sweat pea for our photoshoot. A tiny little girl who happened to want to be up and see what Mom and I were doing with all of these blankets and wraps. But we were able to get her to sleep for about 25-minutes and that is all we really needed. She has such amazing eye control and calm personality that I love her awake shots.

And let me tell you, her nursery is amazing. All of these beautiful, personal touches. Absolutely one of my favorites to date.

Cuteness times 2! I’ve been photographing Liza and Caroline for a few years now and it is always such a treat to see them and their family. From each visit they change…growing and getting cuter by the minute but one session Caroline will be more out going or giggly and by the next session it is Liza stealing the show. So fun. And they just moved into a beautiful new home. What makes it such a small world is it is in the first neighborhood Rick and I lived in. I use to run past this house almost daily while it was being built.

Harper {Atlanta Family Photographer} {Greenville, SC Family Photographer}

The “B” family was a part of our first Small Group in Atlanta. We’ve all grown so much since our group about 9-years ago ….we’ve had two children, moved and they have now added Harper to their family. And we found out that we are also distant relatives …funny how the world works.

Sweet Harper is now 6-months, sitting and has a love of books just like her parents. She was so good for our session. We photographed her extended family after the family session and she kept right on with us for almost 2-hours without shedding a tear. Just a 5-minute cat nap.

This past Saturday morning Spring disappeared. It was super chilly. And windy. We had originally planned our photoshoot outside but decided to head back to their beautiful home where it was a little (lot!) warmer. Glad we did because we were able to catch some really special moments that I don’t think would have happened in the park. Serendipitous if you will.

Lots of smiles, giggles, kicky feet and showing off favorite toys for our session. Thanks for being flexible with me on Saturday and letting me stay for longer than anticipated. I think we have some adorable stuff. Can’t wait to share it all but until them enjoy your sneak.

NAPCP Retreat – Part 1 – Seniors

Wow…I think the best thing photographers can do is educate themselves. So even though the NAPCP retreat took me away from my family and role as Mom, took me away from my computer/photographing/editing it was so important. To network. To grow. To learn. (To eat some really good food.) And to push myself outside the box. I have been thinking of a blog post to write on all that I learned but I think I actually need to photograph what I’m saying. So that blog post will come later.

But one thing we did at NAPCP was a Senior Shootout. I don’t usually photograph Seniors. To be honest, sometimes they scare me in a “I’m not cool enough and they are going to see right through me” kind of way. But you know what …they were so nice. They were so sweet. I just wanted to sit and have a cup of coffee with so many of them. And instead of having the Seniors posed for us, we just had a map and would walk around Charleston and meet them. So we posed them, positioned them and just got to know them better in the short time we had. And they were all amazing. The day after the Senior Shoot Out Sarah Lane spoke to us about Photographing seniors. If you don’t know who she is, click on the link and get ready to enjoy some fabulous work. She is one of the leading Senior Photographers in the country.

Caroline was an absolute gem for our session. Once her tummy was full she was like putty to work with. And just so adorable. I have to just pinch myself because I truly have the best job in the world… I get to play with sweet little babies. Hear their little “coos”, see their little smiles and carefully adjust all their little fingers and toes …love those fingers and toes. And get to know new people or visit with friends. Seriously awesome.

And Caroline’s parents were so kind. They, like me, are also new to the area so we got to chat about how much we all love Greenville and all the new places we’ve found.

Introducing Sarah Wesley {Greenville, SC Newborn Photographer}

Two sweet girls. Big sister “C” was all smiles and stories about her sister. You could tell how proud and excited she is about Sarah Wesley. And how could you argue ….she is adorable. Head full of hair and the squishiest cheeks. Just pure perfection. And Mom has the cutest matching outfits for the girls. They are going to grow up in style.

And it is always a pleasure to visit their family. They have been so kind to us since moving to Greenville. I feel like I’ve known Mom forever so it is always fun to catch up and chat.
