Easter is my favorite holiday. I love everything about Easter. And I always have. But until I had children I didn’t fully appreciate how amazing Easter is and how much our God loves us. On Good Friday I just hug and love on my children. To think the sacrifice our God made for us with His only Son. But on Easter he LIVES and we celebrate. Hallelujah!
And the celebrations and traditions that come along with Easter are such a blast with children. We’ve been going on egg hunts for the last week. Yesterday we dyed eggs with the boys and my parents. Colton really got into it. Putting three eggs in a cup. Dipping each egg in at least four colors and then throwing the eggs across the yard. While Ridge was a perfectionist and would carefully place an egg in the cup and watch it until it turned just the right color before pulling it out of the cup. And the colors that they loved so much are still stained on their little hands and in between their fingernails. But that is what Easter fun is all about.
Tomorrow will be a special family day filled with Church, family time, Easter egg hunts, Easter stories and just being together. And Monday will start the week of eating egg salad sandwiches.
