Ridge is my oldest child. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while or know me personally, Ridge HATES to have his picture made. Usually I bring along his Dad who will make some type of joke to loosen Ridge up but not tonight. I actually wanted him to give us his morose look he does when I want to take his picture. And every once in a while I can get him to give me a hidden smile but he won’t let the laugh come all the way through and he gives this quirky face that melts my heart. My 15 minutes of shooting time cost me one Transformer (he drives a hard deal for participation). I had a location all picked out…worked perfectly with the setting sun and farm in the background. It was this fence with beautiful ivy and flowers crawling on it….and they must of cut it this morning….nooooo….but we passed this tree and crooked fence on the side of the road which worked out just as beautiful. And the location change made me work at one of my least favorite ways to shoot…full sun, not backlit. Even in the later afternoon light I don’t always feel comfortable shooting in full sun. But I do like trying something new, so why not.
Hope you enjoy my sweet boy. Ridge misses all his Atlanta friends but he, and his brother, are adjusting beautifully to their new school. Now if we could just figure out how to get the Atlanta Aquarium here they would be set. They miss the sharks and penguins.
