I was on a walk in our neighborhood with my two boys last week and we discovered these beautiful wild “flowers” that looked like little pom-poms. I loved them and knew I had to do some type of shoot with them. But I kept thinking…it needs to be with a girl, one with blonde hair. Meg is an adorable little girl in a playgroup here with us so I texted her Mom to see if they were interested and she was in. I was so excited and we pulled it all together in a matter of an hour or two. Although the end of Dec and first part of the year is generally slow for portrait photography it allows us to think and create as artists. This shoot was about simplicity and the absence of color. It is not wild and smiley like so many of my usual shoots. But about being simple and beautiful. (oh, and the last shot is just because I thought it would be fun…snow in the South..because we do need a white Christmas…right?). Enjoy! And thank you to Meg and her family for their time.
